The launch of M-CHEP was a clear success, with more than 170 guests attending the event. Two keynote speakers provided insightful perspectives on developments in their respective countries. The panel discussion brought together representatives from different sectors and enabled a constructive exchange of views. A highlight of the event was the opening address by Bavarian Health Minister Judith Gerlach. The strong participation and discussions marked a promising start for M-CHEP.

Many members of M-CHEP attended the annual conference of the German Society for Health Economics (DGGÖ) in Wuppertal on March 9–10. The event provided a great opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss current research, and connect with colleagues from across the field. We especially enjoyed the inspiring presentations and the chance to build new professional contacts.

The M-CHEP Professors Janina Steinert and Nikkil Sudharsanan hosted the Early Career and Annual Workshop of the Health and Development Cooperation Working Group for the German Association of Health Economics (DGGÖ). The events fostered exchange and collaboration among researchers working at the intersection of global health, development, and economics.

Three members from the Munich Center for Health Economics and Policy (M-CHEP) – Prof. Leonie Sundmacher, Prof. Michael Laxy, and Prof. Amelie Wuppermann – have been appointed by Federal Minister of Health Nina Warken to the newly established FinanzKommission Gesundheit. The commission will develop measures to ensure the long-term stabilization of contribution rates in the Statutory Health Insurance (GKV).
